Here for the long haul y’all!

While We’re Here
Let’s Make it Better.

Whether you’ve called these mountains home for six months or six years or since you can remember, Generation Wheeling is a place for you.

We bring together young people from across Wheeling and surrounding areas who want to do good in their communities. We like to think of ourselves as a hub designed by and for young people - a place to connect, engage with other young people like yourself, and together create meaningful change.

Generation Wheeling is part of Generation West Virginia’s network of local Generations across the state, all uniting together under the same mission - to attract, retain, and advance young people in the Mountain State. We do this by creating the changes we want to see in order to make West Virginia a place where young people want to work, live, and give.

As a young person living in rural West Virginia, it’s easy to feel cut off from the rest of the world. But you’re not alone. There is a network of young movers and shakers, just like yourself. Come find out at one our meetups or volunteering events.

We are so glad you are here!

There are so many ways to get involved in your community. By joining Generation Wheeling we’ll keep you informed on upcoming networking events, volunteer efforts and professional development opportunities. Heck, if you have an idea for a fun event or community project you’d like to see, we’ll help you get it off the ground.

Generation Wheeling is run by a volunteer-led board that meets regularly. We welcome folks from all ages and backgrounds, but our work is targeted toward young people ages 18-40. Generation Wheeling part of Generation West Virginia's network of Local Generations. Generation West Virginia is the statewide organization dedicated to attracting, retaining and advancing young people in the Mountain State.

From wrapping gifts at a Holiday market to raise money for the local United Way to Bike Safety event for local kids, we take a fun, boots-on-the-ground approach to helping our community through volunteer efforts.

And don’t worry. We leave plenty of time for good times and conversation (or whatever drink you choose). From bike rides through Oglebay to holiday parties. Trust us, at Generation Wheeling events there are plenty of good food, even better conversation and drinks to go around.

And there’s plenty of room for you.
